Description

Responsible for assisting the Manager and/or Laboratory Director in the management and maintenance of the laboratory information system, to including planning, coordinating, implementing, evaluating and improving the quality of patient care.  Maintain confidentiality when requested.  Monitor performance quality as required by licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies.  Assist in the daily planning and organization of work activities to achieve maximum efficiency.   Maintain teamwork and communications with physicians, nursing staff, laboratory staff and administration by providing internal and external customer satisfaction and appropriate resource management.  Knowledge of the medical necessity requirements as defined by HCFA and Tenet's compliance plan.  Other duties may include performing moderate complexity and high complexity testing on clinical specimens (blood, urine, other body fluids) in specialties consistent with State licensure.  Assist students in the specific area for development of technical, clinical and problem solving.  Must be available by beeper or other means when not on site.  Perform additional duties as needed or assigned. 
Qualifications

Current Florida License as Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in assigned areas
Knowledge of information systems and networks
Organizational skills
